Hi,

Up for sale is a complete set of synchroniser rings to rebuild any T50 gearbox. This rebuild kit will fit all variants of the T50 gearbox (from 1973 right up to 1987). It will also work on a T40 gearbox (You will however have a left over synchro ring as T40's are a 4-speed transmissions)

Crunching of gears occurs when there is a a large mis-match of speeds between the driven gears and the output shaft of your gearbox. A synchroniser ring is designed to literally synchronise/match the shaft rpm to allow for a smooth engagement when shifting gears. Over time they do wear out from friction and fail to synchronise the shaft speeds, hence synchroniser rings are considered a consumable.

Other factors such a lubricant type and driving style will determine the wear rate and shift feel. Some people swear by Redline MT-90 or regular Dexron III ATF. Different drivers will have different requirements for shift feel. I'll leave you to experiment with what type of lubricant is ideal for your driving style.

Be sure to also check out my complete T50 gearbox rebuild kit (also on eBay).

NB: These are aftermarket type synchroniser rings ie. Non-genuine.

Cheers!

Both Rana and his navigator, Roland Linder, were unharmed in the incident, and the vehicle appears to be in good cosmetic shape despite its submerged state. With an infinitely better attitude than most, Rana and Linder expressed their perspective on competitive risks and their outlooks on returning to racing.

Want wagons? Kill the crossover

Mon, 27 Jan 2014

Cadillac boss Bob Ferguson recently told Automotive News that GM is considering an ATS wagon. Autoweek contributor and GM big shot Mark Reuss is on record speaking in favor of wagons. And whether they know it or not, American car buyers need a station wagon, but not a wagon built to satisfy station-wagon fetishists.
