Willie Garner, the founder of Trans-Dapt Performance, began his fledgling company manufacturing and selling transmission adapters out of his garage. Mr. Garner became so well known for his quality adapters, it wasn't long before he hired a "right hand man" to do the manufacturing, while Willie went out on the road, selling his product. With Willie's philosophy of providing a wide selection of quality products at a fair price, Trans-Dapt soon became THE company to call, whenever you needed a transmission, carburetor or oil filter adapter, and within just 4 years, the two man shop in a garage was filling up 40,000 square feet of office, warehouse and manufacturing space. In 2009, that will be 50 years ago... Today, Trans-Dapt Performance Products, which is now part of the Hedman group of performance companies, resides in a 100,000 square foot facility using the latest in CNC machining and CAD design to ensure that Willie Garner's philosophy of providing quality performance parts is not compromised. Still, Citroen hasn't been put off, and will launch the DS3 Cabrio after its world debut at the 2012 Paris motor show. Citroen claims the weight has only increased by 25kg over the hard-top DS3, and buyers will get even more personalisation options to go along with the wind-in-the-hair driving experience.
Pagani releases Huayra documentary [w/video]
Tue, 13 Mar 2012Italian manufacturer Pagani has put together a 14-minute documentary tracking the development of its new Huayra supercar. The short film heads to the companies that help to make the carbon and titanium-bodied Huayra, such as Italian company ASPA that creates the car's logo for an entire day out of a solid block of aluminum. The finer points of the design and development of the 230 mph car are also explored, as well as detailing how Leonardo Da Vinci inspired Horacio Pagani's original design.

Tue, 21 Feb 2012New special editions of the 2012 Toyota Aygo revealed The 2012 Toyota Aygo has yet to reach showrooms, but we’re already getting two limited editions – the Toyota Aygo Fire and Aygo Ice. The Toyota Aygo has been given a bit of a refresh for 2012 – just like its Peugeot and Citroen cousins – and even before the 2012 Aygo hits showrooms in the UK Toyota has announced a pair of special editions – the Aygo Fire and Aygo Ice. Both the Aygo Ice and Aygo Fire come with the freshly tweaked 1.0 litre VVT-I petrol engine, which now delivers sub-100g/km emissions and economy improved to 65.7mpg, as well as the tweaks to the nose, new LEDs, restyled bumpers, tinted glass and the smallest of interior tweaks.
