Britain's cheapest roadster has been given a massive engine boost, after Daihatsu chopped the 660cc engine in the Copen for a 1.3 twin-cam. The Copen was conceived under Japan's K-car rules for short micro cars with engines under 0.7 litres, and its right-hand drive status meant it was imported to the UK market.

That always made sense because Citroen now has a new market that appreciates bigger cars, particularly bigger cars that have smaller engines, and that’s China. A U.K. public service announcement that graphically portrays the dangers of text-messaging while driving is prompting a new round of warnings from driver-safety advocates in the United States. The ad has had tens of thousands of views on YouTube, which has restricted it to viewers who are at least 18 years old.
