In 2009, that will be 50 years ago... Today, Trans-Dapt Performance Products, which is now part of the Hedman group of performance companies, resides in a 100,000 square foot facility using the latest in CNC machining and CAD design to ensure that Willie Garner's philosophy of providing quality performance parts is not compromised.

These are the first images of the new 2012 Porsche 911, set to make its official debut at the forthcoming Frankfurt motor show. The evolutionary design, built atop a chassis that rides on a longer wheelbase, will feature a steeper rake on the windshield and stand shorter than the outgoing 997, while retaining similar overall dimensions. It’s not all that unusual for a picture revealed by a car maker to have a hidden Easter Egg; something that’s only there if you look hard. And the guys over at Audi News Blog think they may have found a hidden gem in a photo Audi has released of Wolfgang Egger – the new 2013 Audi TT lurking in the background.

CDN and Opel/Vauxhall launch Interactive Design Competition

Opel/Vauxhall today asks students: "What do you think is our lounge style?" as part of a new, interactive design competition being launched with Car Design News. The competition is for students studying at design schools (of any discipline) in Europe, and will be in two stages: Stage 1 is the interior, and then Stage 2 the exterior. It culminates in a display of the work of the finalists and announcement of the two winners at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2011.
