This is about 1 uncut transponder high security key with the chip included inside the black plastic head. The term transponder (short-for Transmitter-responder)means an automatic device that transmits a predetermined message in response to a predefined received signal. These car year, make and models have keys with transponders hidden inside the plastic head of the key. The owner of the car may not even be aware that the transponder is there because there are no buttons to press. When a key is inserted into the ignition lock cylinder and turned, the car's computer sends a radio signal to the transponder. Unless the transponder replies with a valid code, the computer will not allow the engine to be started. Transponder keys have no battery; they are energized by the radio signal itself. When you attempt to start the vehicle, the on board computer sends out a signal that is picked up by the transponder in the key. The transponder then returns a unique signal to the vehicle's computer, giving it the OK for the vehicle to start and continue to run. This all happens in less than a second, and is completely transparent to the vehicle operator. It is a very effective system that does its job without the vehicle owner having to think about it, or modify his / her usual routine. This system was introduced to help reduce vehicle crime. If the transponder key is missing or faulty the car will not start. A few years ago, these keys were only available through the dealer, and the price they charge is really expensive (From $90 to $149 depending the Car). Today, you can get these keys here, and get it delivered to your door. Is a very easy purchase, you stay home, wait for the key, SAVE MONEY, and have the spare key you needed. You can take this key to a professional locksmith or the dealership to cut, program and duplicate it. Taking this key with you is going to cost you less than the regular $145 than most locksmiths and dealership charge. It Fits: Volkswagen Passat (Wagon) (2003-2005) Note: If your car has Prox FOB, which means you don't need always the key to start the vehicle, or you can start it with a push button, this key is NOT for your car. If you have any question, just ask! |

One Lap of the Web: Moby Dick, mass transit failures, and the return of the Ford Rotunda
Mon, 16 Sep 2013-- The Porsche 935/78 race car, perhaps better known as Moby Dick, looks a bit like a typical 911 that someone heated up until it was pliable and then slowly, carefully stretched until its nose and tail were elongated past the point of absurdity. And then someone else came along and stuck a giant wing on the back. But it is a real car, and Speedhunters has proof in the form of a photo essay.
Are used car prices about to spiral down?
Thu, 04 Apr 2013CAP – the used car price specialists – are warning that used car prices, particularly ’almost’ new car prices, are set to tumble as nearly new cars hit the market. The car market in the UK has proved amazingly resilient to the general malaise in the economy, with new car sales continuing to rise strongly and used cars seemingly immune to big depreciation drops. But CAP – who gauge used car prices for the motor trade – are warning that this could be about to change as the impact of recent trading in new cars is about to start impacting on used car prices, particularly prices for cars less than a year old.
A classic covey gathers at The Quail for Monterey weekend
Sat, 15 Aug 2009For seven years now every August, the fairway in front of the Quail Lodge has been transformed into a racing paddock. Great sports, race and super cars of all eras sprawl out on the grass like a tremendous, wheeled museum of speed. This year, in addition to the usual categories of "pre-war sports and racing," "post-war sports," etc., there were classes for BMW M1s, a celebration of 50 years of racing at Daytona and even a class of eight Devins.
