The term transponder (short-for Transmitter-responder)means an automatic device that transmits a predetermined message in response to a predefined received signal. These car year, make and models have keys with transponders hidden inside the plastic head of the key. The owner of the car may not even be aware that the transponder is there because there are no buttons to press. When a key is inserted into the ignition lock cylinder and turned, the car's computer sends a radio signal to the transponder. Unless the transponder replies with a valid code, the computer will not allow the engine to be started. Transponder keys have no battery; they are energized by the radio signal itself. You can take it to most hardware stores, home improvement centers or locksmith shops to cut it and duplicate your original key. Once you have cut the key, you'll need to program it. GM's Henderson says no decision yet on bankruptcy
Fri, 17 Apr 2009General Motors CEO Fritz Henderson said today the company has not decided whether to file for bankruptcy protection, but that preparations continue in case such an action is necessary. "We have until June 1, and if we can't do it between now and June 1 then we do it in bankruptcy," Henderson said during a morning teleconference with journalists. Still in his first month at the helm after the March 30 departure of CEO Rick Wagoner, Henderson said he wasn't sure who would make the decision.
Lotus Evora hits London showroom

The Evora is going to be on display until the 9th January, offering potential buyers, and the terminally nosey, the opportunity to see this exciting new Lotus in the flesh. Finished in Frost White (trendy, but I’m not sure it suits the Evora that well), with a red leather interior, the 2+2 is the first proper new Lotus car for more than a decade.
