BMW to EXPORT 5-Series from China

BMW are to export China made 5-Series cars When you think about luxury cars in China, you think of big imports from the West at premium prices for newly wealthy Chinese. BMW’s China CEO has revealed that before the end of 2011 we’ll see Brilliance-BMW 5-Series cars being exported to neighbouring Asian countries, as BMW seeks to cash in on its low cost, low duty China manufacturing facility.

Buick duplicates toughest roads in the world for virtual testing

Buick is cloning real-world roads so they can be used to virtual test cars. Engineers use cameras and a laser to scan the road surface and to create a three-dimensional virtual copy. Buick has used this system to replicate the road leading to the Cerro del Cubilete shrine in Mexico.

Hyundai will launch Veloster Turbo in 2012

Hyundai has confirmed it will bring a 1.6 turbo version of the Veloster coupe to the UK in the second half of 2012, as first revealed by CAR. It should make an interesting alternative to the VW Golf GTI brigade. The new blown four-cylinder engine is called the Gamma 1.6 T-GDI by Hyundai - and it develops an unusually high specific output of 201bhp at 6000rpm and 196lb ft at just 1750rpm.
