Nissan design chief Shiro Nakamura meets Jay Leno, talks about new 240Z
Thu, 04 Oct 2012Nissan Design's Chief Creative Officer Shiro Nakamura met talk-show host Jay Leno in the latest of the ‘Jay Leno's Garage' YouTube series, chatting candidly about the possibility of a new 240Z within the next two years. Next year will be the 80th anniversary of Nissan and the new model would be a celebration of the occasion, taking the spirit of the 240Z while refreshing the original design and shape into what Nakamura hopes will be an exciting new product. Speaking at the Nissan Technical Center in Japan, Nakamura said: "I don't regulate everything, I don't come too often.
VW Golf R 400 could get more than 400PS – which makes a bit of a nonsense of its name
Mon, 12 May 2014The VW Golf R 400 (pictured) may not actually be an R 400 The Beijing Motor Show last month saw the debut of the VW Golf R 400, an extreme take on the VW Golf R with a full 400 PS (395bhp) at its disposal. When Volkswagen revealed the R 400 as a concept we did note that it looked more production-ready than concept, and it took VW less than a week to confirm that the Golf R 400 was indeed heading for production. Now, just to muddy the waters a bit (or raise expectations), VW’s R&D chief Heinz-Jakob Neusser has said that when the Golf R 400 does arrive it could well be with more than 400PS.
Government CO2 cock-up
Sun, 03 Jun 2007By Richard Yarrow Motoring Issues 03 June 2007 02:32 Britain’s new eco-motoring scheme postponed Plans to help Britain’s drivers choose the greenest car for their budget have been thrown into chaos, CAR Online can reveal. The launch of a new Government website for motorists – called www.actonco2.co.uk – has been cancelled just 16 hours before it was to go live. Amazingly, the Department for Transport (DfT) has admitted the eleventh hour delay was because it realised the CO2 data to published wasn’t accurate.
