Triumph Spitfire 1500 Speedometer This is a good used speedometer for the Triumph Spitfire 1500 (federal). This unit came out of a 1980 Spitfire with the 3.89:1 diff ratio. It seems like Triumph fitted many different variations of speedometers over the years but as far as I can see from the reference books this type was used in all federal model 1500s. Note, this is the type where the speedo cable clips on to the back of the instrument with a quick-release plastic collar, not screwed on like the earlier types. This come complete with the dash mounting brackets and original thumb-nuts (note, these are weird "BA" threads so if you lose them they are hard to replace), voltage stabilizer unit on the back, and the correct cable and bracket for the trip reset. I note that the thin plastic flange on the reset cable where it secures into the back of the instrument casing is partially broken but it appears to secure just fine still. I did not see this instrument in use in the parts car but it all looks complete and in good shape. If you insert a suitable rod in the rear and spin it by hand - the needle deflects nicely as expected. It appears that it is not broken or frozen inside. Jaguar XK leaves the lineup
Fri, 18 Apr 2014Production of the Jaguar XK stretched from 1996 with the XK8 and will wrap up as the final 50 limited edition XK models roll off the assembly line this summer. The farewell XKs will be branded as "Final Fifty Limited Edition" cars, and will carry the same specification as the current XKR model, along with some added features that celebrate the history of Jaguar and the evolution of the brand's grand touring coupes and convertibles. Under the hood, a supercharged 510-hp 5.0-liter V8 is capable of bringing the XK to 60 mph in 4.6 seconds according to Jag, and an active exhaust system helps ensure the engine note remains prominent.

The styling seems to follow the E- and S-class with hints of the CLA-class as well; the sport model wears its badge in the grille, while the luxury model opts for a hood ornament. The 2015 C-class will launch in the fall of 2014.
