THIS IS HOW THE TOOL WORKS - On the type of engine this is designed for the rocker arm has an adjuster that bears against the pushrod anprotrudes through the rocker. It's threaded into the rocker, has a slotted end and is secured with a locknut. You place socket of the proper size for your locknut on the square-drive portion of the wrench. Place the wrench over the adjuster, and the socket engages the locknut while the screwdriver bit engages the slotted adjuster. Then, you can hold the handwheel in place while loosening the locknut with the wrench handle. That way, you don't lose the existing adjustment. Likewise, after adjusting it, hold the handwheel while using the wrench to tighten the locknut, and the new adjustment doesn't change. The key to its operation is that the socket drive is attached to the wrench handle, while the screwdriver bit/handwheel assembly spins freely. Very handy tool; takes longer to explain than to adjust a valve! Good luck,
