Koenigsegg: Men in a shed in Sweden – the video
Wed, 06 Jun 2012DRIVEN has had access to Christian von Koenigsegg and the Koenigsegg factory in Sweden for this 30 minute long look at all things Koenigsegg. We tend to refer to Koenigsegg as men in a shed in Sweden, which might sound disparaging – but it isn’t. Jaguar XF – the 2010 police version for Plod
Wed, 28 Apr 2010This is the first police-spec Jaguar XF – bound to an orderly life of patrolling the motorways around the Midlands area encircling Jaguar's HQ. The local constabulary has bought seven 271bhp 3.0-litre Diesel S models in police trim. What's changed to make the XF a police car?Not much out of the ordinary. It's much easier to spot than a demarked police car, with its roof bar, LED flashers in the grille and refletive decals galore. It's ironic that Jags used to be the getaway vehicle of choice in the 50s, 60s and 70s in films of a certain bent; now Jaguar has gone good and supplying Plod himself.
Dakar Rally 2012 Day 3 update
Tue, 03 Jan 2012American Robby Gordon continues to hold second place overall at the completion of day three of the 2012 Dakar. Hummer driver Gordon, vying to make up for the delays suffered on Monday, completed the 129 competitive miles between San Rafael and San Juan in the Argentine Andes with the fifth-fastest time. His teammate and defending Dakar champion Nasser Al-Attiyah was third-quickest and moves into sixth position overall, having dropped precious time on day one with a loss of oil pressure.
