Mercedes A 45 AMG: Price from £37,845 – first deliveries August

Wed, 12 Jun 2013

The new Mercedes A45 AMG (pictures) starts at £37,845 The new Mercedes A45 AMG promises to be the first small Mercedes to put a dent in BMW’s baby M cars, and now you can place your order. The order book for the A45 AMG has opened, and with prices starting from £37,845 it promises yo be a lot of bang for your money, with 181bhp per litre from its 2.0 litre 4-cylinder and 0-62mph coming up in just 4.6 seconds. As we already know, the A45 gets an AMG body kit with new front bumper, front splitter, gloss black sill extensions, new back bumper and a set of 18″ or 19″ alloys.

Aston Martin Lagonda SUV still moving forward

Tue, 10 Jul 2012

New reports suggest Aston Martin is still pushing forward with the Lagonda SUV, with underpinnings from the Mercedes GL. Last year we reported the Lagonda SUV was back on (although we’re not sure when it was actually off – just MIA) and that it was Aston Martin’s hope they could raid Mercedes parts bin for the underpinnings of the SUV, and take on the building of a new Maybach for Mercedes in the process. But as we now know, Mercedes has decided a Pullman S Class has more cachet (and less build cost) than  the glitter ball Maybach, so Aston Martin’s hopes of a nice profitable design and build deal evaporated with the last roll of the dice for the Maybach brand.

Ford takes a swipe at GM’s Facebook spoiler

Sat, 19 May 2012

Ford up their Facebook spend as GM depart paid for Facebook After GM said it was pulling its adverts from Facebook this week, Ford has stepped in to say it will spend more. Who’s right? The timing of the announcement by GM this week that it was pulling advertising from Facebook was doubtless designed to inflict as much damage as possible on the Facebook IPO.
