This t-shirt, adults size X-Large, features Gold Tucker 48 Sedan on the front with caption "Mini Meet IV"; plain black on revere side. "Mini Meets" were informal gatherings of Tucker Automobile Club members that would take place in various parts of the country. This shirt was purchased by myself at Mini Meet IV, which was in Indianapolis, IN, the exact year I do not recall, sometime in the mid 1990's. Ford invents agile, low-cost solution for prototyping, customization and limited production [w/video]
Wed, 03 Jul 2013A new metal forming technique pioneered by Ford that drastically reduces the time and cost of producing low-volume and one-off body parts may lead to cost-effective customization, redesigns, one-offs and limited production runs. Ford Freeform Fabrication Technology (F3T) forms sheets of metal by two stylus-like tools, one on each side of the surface. Using CAD data they form the part to the exacting strength and finish tolerances usually associated with stamping dies.
New MoT failure figures reveal surprises
Mon, 30 Sep 2013BETWEEN January and August 2013 253,000 vehicles failed their first MoT, according to new data. 70 million records from the Vehicle Operation and Services Agency (VOSA) were examined to reveal the patterns of failure for cars receiving their first MoT, required three years from the date of first registration. However, while the best performers have pre-existing reputations for reliability, the bottom of the table reveals some surprises.
McLaren P1 – 0-124mph in under 7 seconds & just 375 P1s being built
Tue, 26 Feb 2013The new McLaren P1 – to be unveiled at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show – will hit 124mph in under 7 seconds. Just 375 being built. McLaren say that the P1 – which we know has 903 bhp – will get to 62mph ‘under 3 seconds’, to 124mph in ‘under 7 seconds’ and to 186mph in ‘less than 17 seconds’.
