Honda CR-Z Mugen - almost ready for Goodwood We got news a couple of months ago that Honda were getting Mugen to do a tuning job on the CR-Z Hybrid and put together a ‘Concept’ for this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed. But it seemed clear that although Honda were keen to point out that the Honda CR-Z Mugen would be a one-off, it was unlikely to stay that way. Honda are desperate to inject a bit 0f aggression in to the lethargic CR-Z, and a nippy Mugen version would help its image no end.

But now the Web is awash in reports from a Porsche dealer meeting in Germany where the company revealed the even-hotter GT2 RS. The 1977 Ford Escort MK2 RS1800 Gp4 is, to many people, an icon of the golden age of rallying, and this example has huge provenance in its connections to Jimmy McRae and his two sons, the late Colin McRae and younger brother Alister. Prepared by specialists Prepfab Motorsport Engineering, the car was driven to victory by Jimmy McRae in the 2006 Roger Albert Clark rally.
