Alto Red Eagle clutches have the Alto Life Time Warranty

Tan, light and dark brown paper frictions are stock material. They are not high performance or heavy duty frictions.
Green or grey with graphite fleck paper frictions are an improvement over stock. They are considered heavy duty but not high performance if infused with graphite.

Red Eagle clutches are designed to withstand higher temperatures. The original material is designed to limit the amount of "slip" by providing a shorter lock-up time, generating less heat. The proprietary process starts with the friction paper saturated in a phenolic resin, cured, and then saturated a second time in a silicate. The silicate imparts high heat resistance. The clutches are designed with a softer, more resilient base paper, assure less wear against opposing steel plates and reduce the incidence of steel plates burning and warping. The increased surface area provides increased holding, increased heat absorption, shorter lock-up time decreasing slippage.

First details on 2008 Goodwood Revival

Thu, 07 Aug 2008

The Goodwood Revival will host the Freddie March Memorial Trophy for only the second time. It's a 90-minute endurance chase that will run into dusk on Saturday 20 September By Tom Richards Motor Shows 07 August 2008 09:16 The 2008 Goodwood Revival this autumn will be even more of a throwback to the ‘good old days’ of motor racing, the organisers promise. The Revival celebrates two milestones this year – the 60th anniversary of motor racing at the Goodwood circuit and the tenth anniversary of the Revival itself.

CAR tech: who's to blame for your car's terrible fuel economy?

Mon, 12 Aug 2013

In early 2013 Audi lost a case brought by the Advertising Standard Agency (ASA) because of ‘misleading’ fuel economy figures used in an advert, after a customer complained they couldn’t get anywhere near the 68mpg quoted. The court case once more exposes the yawning gap between officially sanctioned mpg figures and those experienced by owners. A recent study by the Independent Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT) looked at cars sold in the UK and Europe, and discovered the difference between official mpg figures and real-world driving had grown from 8% in 2001 to a barely believable 21% in 2011.

Aston Martin V12 Vantage S arrives – the quickest production Aston ever (video)

Wed, 29 May 2013

The new, more powerful, Aston Martin V12 Vantage S arrives Aston Martin has been teasing something ‘Coming soon’ for a few days, and here it is – the new V12 Vantage S. The new S replaces the V12 Vantage (which we knew Aston Martin had stopped building) and gets Aston’s latest AM28 version of the venerable V12 with 565bhp and 457lb/ft of torque thanks to new engine management, combustion chambers and camshafts resulting in more power and a much flatter torque curve. The extra power has pushed the V12 S beyond the 200nph barrier, with the top speed now 205mph and, we assume, a quicker sprint to 62mph, but Aston Martin aren’t letting on how much quicker the V12 S is.
