This is a pair of bullet proof Merc 150 outboard motors They are 1993's with about 1000 hours of trouble free service. I just pulled them off of my 24' Sea Ray Laguna (they were original equipment) because I have been running to the Bahamas a lot lately and I needed to re-power or else I would have kept them. The only issue with these motors is the grommets that the motors pivot on have hardened over the years and the pair have become difficult to turn. This would need attention before remounting these on another vessel. This listing comes complete with gauges, dual controls, oil tanks and sending units, stainless steel props in excellent condition. In the last 100 hours, I have replaced: starters, stators, spark plugs, water pumps and thermostats as well as had the carbs adjusted. The motors have good compression and they are currently at the service facility that has maintained them for me for the last 3 years. They have been very reliable, strong motors that start at the touch of the key and they have plenty of life left in them despite their age. These would be great cheap alternative for your project center console. You can direct all of your questions to the mechanic when / if you come take a look and or schedule a phone call to him.

Amelia Island concours celebrates birthday of fake sports car--46 years early

Wed, 19 Oct 2011

The fictional Italian grand marque 1958 Pignatelli sports car has joined the lineup for the 2012 Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance. The 17th-annual event will celebrate the cartoon vehicle's 100th anniversary, 46 years early, in March. "Because all but two people involved with the Amelia Island concours will be dead by 2058, we don't want to wait," concours chairman Bill Warner said.

One Lap of the Web: Remembering the dearly departed

Tue, 29 Apr 2014

-- With news that Toyota is leaving the great state of California for the greater (by landmass, anyway; your own opinion may vary) state of Texas, it's worth reminding ourselves that Toyota in America started as one lonely building on 6000 Hollywood Blvd., having taken over a former Rambler dealership. (The site is still a successful Toyota dealership.) That first year of sales in 1958 saw 287 Toyopet Crowns and one Land Cruiser sold -- more as curiosities than as practical transportation, we'd wager. -- At any rate, Toyota's move from California to Texas is moving from "one of the most eco-friendly states in the union," according to Ward's Auto, "to the U.S.’s equivalent of China." -- Ten years ago today, the last Oldsmobile rolled off the line at Lansing Car Assembly.

Pininfarina family to lose control of company

Wed, 15 Feb 2012

The Pininfarina family is set to lose its controlling share stake in the company as it takes a step closer to restructuring its €76 million net debt. The Italian design firm, founded in 1930, has been plagued with debt in recent years, shutting its manufacturing branch in 2011 to concentrate purely on design, ending a joint venture with Volvo that saw the company assemble Volvo's C70. The move is seen as a positive one for the company in the long-term, making it more financially secure for future developments, but it also means that the Pininfarina family will lose control of the company by selling its 77 percent share.
