two 1934 Chevrolet combination
tire iron, lug wrench, jack handles

Both irons have a 3/4" wrench end. The shorter
of the two irons features a patented tang meant
to index into a period jack.

I believe the 2nd (longer) of the two irons is also
intended for 1930s or 1940s Chevy because the
profile is similar (though the 2nd is minus the
contoured end. This iron instead has a bladed
end).

Photo #5 is an extract of the iron's 1929 patent.
The image illustrates the multiple functions
of the handle.

Photo #7 is an example of a 1934 'Standard 6'
which included a tire iron such those featured
here as standard equipment.

Both the SL 350 and SL 500 get a bit of an AMG makeover with the arrival of the AMG Sports Package for the SL range. That means a set of 19″ AMG alloys, lowered sports suspension, AMG body kit with new front and rear aprons and side sills, better brakes on the SL 350 and a boot lip.

Retracing Steve McQueen's Los Angeles in his Jaguar XKSS

Mon, 21 Apr 2014

In 1958, Steve McQueen bought this Jaguar XKSS from a local TV personality who kept it parked in a studio lot on Sunset Boulevard. McQueen cajoled his wife Nellie into writing a check for $5,000 -- today around $40,000 -- and became the third owner of XKSS chassis No. 713, a car that had originally been imported a year earlier by Jaguar North America.
