2013 Toyota Auris leaks
Wed, 30 May 2012The next generation Toyota Auris (Toyota Corolla) is due to debut this year as a 2013 model, and we get the first leaked photo. We know that a replacement for the Toyota Auris is on the horizon and we’re expecting it to make a public debut (at least in Europe) at the Paris Motor Show in September before going on sale by the end of 2012. But now, thanks to a Japanese Magazine scan, we have a pretty good idea what Toyota’s new Auris/Corolla is going to look like, and it seems to be the current Auris with a dose of Lexus thrown in for good measure.
European Parliament: electric cars must make noise
Thu, 03 Apr 2014The European Parliament has voted in favour of a European Commission proposal to decrease the maximum allowed noise for new cars, vans, trucks, buses and coaches, in an effort to reduce “vehicle noise nuisance” by 25%. At the same time, the EU has voted in favour of a proposal to force carmakers to fit electric and hybrid electric vehicles with a sound generating device, to improve low speed safety for pedestrians and the visually impaired. Michelin Challenge Design announces 2008 jury
Mon, 23 Jul 2007Michelin Challenge Design, known for enticing some of the world's most talented up and coming designers, has convened its 2008 panel of judges. The eight automotive design experts met July 16-17, 2007, at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, to select the vehicle designs and concepts for special exhibition at the 2008 North American International Auto Show in Detroit next January. This year marks the seventh year for the international competition with a record 272 individual designers, teams, studios, and companies from over 50 countries submitting full-size vehicles, scale models and computer-generated renderings in support of the central theme, 'Safer.
