Volvo S60 Polestar goes in to production

Wed, 17 Apr 2013

It sounded like a plan to put it in to production – even if it would probably need twin turbos to make it nicely wieldy on the road – and that’s exactly what Volvo and Polestar have done. The Volvo S60 Polestar has gone in to limited production, initially for the Australian market, but instead of the mighty 508bhp of the concept it has to make do with a more pedestrian 350bhp, little more than the V60 we reviewed last year with the Polestar upgrade. But the extra power is enough to get the production S60 Polestar to 62mph in 4.9 seconds and, thanks to tweaks to the suspension, brakes and aerodynamics, the S60 Polestar looks like it will be able to handle the power quite well.

Alfa Romeo Giulietta (2010) first official pictures: it's the new 147

Wed, 02 Dec 2009

Alfa has revived an historic badge for its all-new 147 replacement, seen here in these first official pictures issued today. Following a last-minute decision to ditch the name Milano – precipitated by angry Milanese workers irritated at Alfa naming the car after the town despite having shifted operations to Turin – the Golf fighter will be called Giulietta. Using a new platform that will underpin the next Fiat Brava, the Giulietta uses a mix of steel and aluminium clothed in bodywork that borrows cues from the 8C supercar – sort of – including sweptback headlights and a narrow glasshouse.

Tue, 02 Mar 2010

Bentley has release comprehensive specs for the 2010 Mulsanne Bentley has now finished producing cars of the pre-VW era. The last of the old-school Bentleys have now rolled off the production line and we now have a clean sweep of modern-day Bentleys. The Continental GT has spawned umpteen variants – including the Continental Supersports Convertible which is also here at Geneva – but the real focus at Geneva is on the replacement for the venerable Arnage.
