Audi Urban Concept EV- just a posh toy car It looks like we may have to dub the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show the EV Go-Kart show, such is the proliferation of fun – if ultimately rather pointless – electric go-karts. And today, just ahead of its debut, we get real photos and decent detail on the Audi Urban Concept EV. We’ve had the teasers for the Audi Urban Concept and a set of CGI images a few weeks ago, but now we get photos of the real car (is car the right word?) and some detail about its powertrain and abilities.

Hamann BMW M5 tuning package announced

German tuner Hamann will upgrade and modify Land Rovers, McLarens, Mercedes-Benzes and more, but its real expertise is in BMWs. The company has just announced an upgrade package for the new generation of BMW M5 sedans. Hamann's body kit adds 25 millimeters on the rocker panels and the rear diffuser, while the front lip is extended by 30 millimeters.

The vice chairman of global product development – who has been at the centre of the automotive industry for the last 46 years – will be replaced by Tom Stephens, GM’s current veepee for global powertrain and global quality. Lutz, 76, will continue to report to GM boss Rick Wagoner throughout 2009 in his new role as GM vice chairman and senior advisor, before bowing out at the end of December.
