Brazil Grand Prix (2013): RESULT
Sun, 24 Nov 2013Brazil Grand Prix (2013): RESULT The F1 drivers title is done and dusted for 2013, but Vettel, on pole for the 2013 Brazilian Grand Prix, can make it nine wins in a row if he can follow the form of the last eight races. Which, of course, he did. But Vettel didn’t have it all his own way, at least from the off, with Nico Rosberg taking his Mercedes past Vettel and Hamilton pushing his past Alonso’s Ferrari.
Next Volvo XC90 to ditch dashboard buttons
Tue, 03 Jun 2014VOLVO is looking to the future of in-car technology in next year's new XC90 by doing away with almost all buttons and replacing them with a new combination of a touch-screen, a head-up display and steering wheel-mounted thumb wheels. The system is designed to make better use of the available interior space while reducing distractions for the driver, but it will mean that users will have to start from scratch to learn how to operate even the car's most basic interior functions. To make it worthwhile Volvo is integrating new features like remote 'Park and Pay' applications and the ability to use and mirror Apple iOS apps in the interface.
Austrian Grand Prix Qualifying: WILLIAMS front row – Massa on pole
Sat, 21 Jun 2014Valtteri Bottas, Felipe Massa and Nico Rosberg – the front three in Austria The writing was perhaps on the wall for the Mercedes domination of the 2014 F1 season after the Canadian Grand Prix, and the writing is now loud and proud for Williams as they lock out the front row for the Austrian Grand Prix tomorrow. Massa has taken pole – his first pole for six years – with team mate Valtteri Bottas just 0.087 seconds behind as Williams took advantage of errors from Lewis Hamilton in the Mercedes, which also compromised Nico Rosberg, creating a Williams front row in the process. Hamilton’s first run didn’t count because he took all four wheels over the white line at turn eight, and he skidded out on his next quick lap, leaving him dead last in final qualifying but starting ninth after Nico Hulkenberg’s disqualification.
