Millionth Range Rover presented to Jezza for Help for Heroes
Sun, 07 Nov 2010Jezza gets the millionth Range Rover together with Lance Corporal Matt Croucher and Private Derek Derenalagi It’s a very large number of Range Rovers, 1,000,000. Although you do have to remember that is a production number over a forty year period. Still, long time or not it’s a milestone for the first proper luxury SUV to achieve, and in its fortieth year of production just to make the maths nice and easy – 25,000 a year.
Aston Martin Hybrid Hydrogen Rapide S race car revealed
Fri, 12 Apr 2013The new Aston Martin Rapide S was revealed in January, and now Aston Martin are taking the Rapide S racing, but with a twist – it’s going to be able to run on hydrogen. Aston Martin has been working with hydrogen experts Alset Global and have developed a twin turbo version of their 6.0 litre V12 that can run on petrol, gaseous hydrogen or a blend of both and the plan is to run the Rapide S at the 24 Hours of Nürburgring next month with at least one lap run on hydrogen alone. The hydrogen system in the Rapide S (which AM are calling a hybrid, but it’s only a hybrid in the sense it uses two fuels, not that it uses electric motors) has a hydrogen fuel rail, storage tanks and its won engine management system to control combustion.
Mullin Museum 'opens,' still no public date
Fri, 16 Apr 2010The Mullin Automotive Museum in Oxnard, Calif., "opened" Thursday night with a gala Art Deco affair that did splendid justice to the beautiful cars, photos and furniture inside. Models dressed in period costume with period 'dos draped themselves over what are arguably the world's most beautiful Bugattis, Delages, Delahayes, Talbot-Lagos, Voisins and Hispano-Suizas. Similarly clad guests strolled about the perfect period decor, perfect right down to the Art Deco pillars holding up the ecologically friendly roof.
