New Skoda Octavia Scout price and spec – costs from £25,315
Mon, 14 Jul 2014New Skoda Octavia Scout costs from £25,315 The new Skoda Octavia Scout arrived at the Geneva Motor Show in the Spring, bringing an ‘Allroad’ version of the latest Skoda Octavia Combi (Estate) to the market. As with all estate cars with offroad pretensions, the Octavia Scout comes with a more butch set of bumpers and a more purposeful nose, black cladding for the door sills and wheel arches, a new set of alloys, a raised ride height and a few tweaks for the interior so it all looks more than capable of taking on a muddy boot sale car park. The Scout comes with a choice of two 2.0 litre TDI engines at launch, with a lower powered, 148bhp with a six-speed manual and a more powerful, 182bhp version, getting a six-speed DSG gearbox, both of which return official economy of 55.4mpg (although, oddly, the lower-powered gets emissions of 129g/km and the more powerful 134g/km).
Citroen DS3 DSport 150 Review & Road Test (2010)
Wed, 15 Sep 2010Citroen DS3 Review & Road Test Citroen has a long and noble history of ploughing its own furrow. They may sometimes have struggled with the build quality and reliability of some Citroens – although certainly not all – but you could never really have called them boring. From the 2CV to the SM, Citroens offered a bold statement of intent and conspired to offer individual style, something no other major car maker could compete with in quite the same way.
Porsche Panamera to debut at Shanghai
Mon, 05 Jan 2009Porsche Panamera will debut in Shanghai in April It’s a sign of the growing importance of the Chinese market that Porsche has chosen to launch the car officially in China. Even the Chinese car market is suffering at the moment, but the simple fact is that with such a huge population, and a Chinese DNA that seems to predispose them to commerce now they are allowed to ‘Trade’ once again, there will probably be more potential Porsche buyers in China in the next 10 years than in the rest of the world combined. So suck-up now seems a good motto.
