By now, the high-profile casualties of cash-for-clunkers are well documented: a Bentley Continental R and an Aston Martin DB7 Volante from 1997 and a 1985 Maserati Quattroporte all perished under the government-funded incentive program. But scratching beneath the surface reveals that scores of everyday enthusiast rides such as Mustangs, Camaros and even some Corvettes met ignominious endings by having their engines destroyed and their bodies crushed. Russo and Steele's Arizona auction closed Friday as weather wreaks havoc

The Russo and Steele auction site in Scottsdale, Ariz., was closed Friday morning--and may not open to the public at all during the day--as city and auction officials assess damage after high winds Thursday night ripped tents from their anchors and damaged several cars. Scottsdale police were not letting anyone into the site as collapsed tents and metal beams remain a hazard. One person was treated for minor injuries.

Lincoln Quicksilver Ghia concept heads to auction

Next week at the Mecum Auction in Kissimmee, Fla., bidders will get a chance to take home something truly unique, a Lincoln Quicksilver concept car created by Carrozzeria Ghia in 1983. This radical concept was created at a time when Ghia was a division of the Ford Motor Company. The concept itself debuted in one place where the Lincoln brand was, ahem, somewhat underappreciated: the Geneva Auto Show.
