Steve McQueen Porsche 911 hammers at $1.375 million during RM Monterey auction

Setting a world record for a Porsche 911 sold at auction, Steve McQueen's 1970 Porsche 911S went to a new owner for a cool $1.375 million during RM Auctions' Monterey event on Friday. The 911 wasn't just owned by McQueen; it also featured prominently at the beginning of the film Le Mans as the lead character, played by McQueen, drives through France reflecting on the realities of racing. Honda to build subcompact cars in Mexico

Honda Motor Co. said Friday it will build an $800 million assembly plant in Mexico to produce subcompact vehicles for the Mexican and North American markets. The Japanese automaker said the plant is scheduled to begin operation in 2014 with an annual capacity of 200,000 units.

Mitsubishi Concept G4 to debut in Bangkok

Mitsubishi will unveil its Concept G4 at the upcoming Bangkok motor show. The Concept G4 compact sedan is shown in only one sketch, meaning we have few details, but we can see it features Mitsubishi's latest design language first seen on the CA-MiEV in Geneva, for example the headlamps, rear lamps, vertical fog lamp bezels and grille. Mitsubishi claims that the concept's short nose will help with visibility and maneuverability, while the interior will allegedly be among the roomiest in its class.
