I love the Clipper GPS Repeater.  I've owned this since 2006.  It's been north to Halifax, NS, south to Providencia, Columbia, up the Rio Dulce in Guatemala, and across the Gulf of Mexico. Completely dependable and reliable.

I'm selling this is because I bought a new one.  And the only reason I bought a new one is that the light stopped working -- I sail at night so that's inconvenient.  I have not investigated whether the light can be replaced.  And sometimes it will fog, particularly on colder/humid mornings -- I sail in colder weather in the mid-Atlantic so that's inconvenient, too.

Otherwise, it works as it's supposed to.  I have other original manual.  I tried to include a variety of photos.  You can see all four displays:

DEST will display the name of the waypoint headed to -- Photos that  "SC9r2S AStern" and "SC9r2S to Port."

STEER will sets of data in four quadrants:  Cross Track error, Track, distance to waypoint, and bearing.  If you push the button again, it will display Speed over ground, Track, distance to waypoint, and bearing.

POSN will display Latitude and Longitude.

The picture of the STEER button shows the crack in it.  And one close up shows the case.

It mounts simply.  There are three wires:  red, blue, and ground.

Design Vettel's helmet, win fabulous prizes

Some helmet schemes are iconic. Jackie Stewart famously emblazoned his Bell helmet with his house tartan. Over on the motorcycle side of things, Valentino Rossi's screaming helmet has become a kitsch icon.

Abarth Punto EVO gets esseesse boost

Fri, 08 Jul 2011

Abarth Punto EVO esseesse gets an extra 15 horses The Fiat 1.4 litre lump which powers the Abarth Punto EVO is already a lively little thing. Despite its rather modest capacity it manages to deliver a healthy 165bhp, enough to scoot the Abarth Punto EVO to 62mph in 7.9 seconds and on to a top speed of 133mph. Far from shoddy.

New Honda NSX: Time to raid the piggy-bank as the order book opens in the UK

Thu, 18 Apr 2013

The new NSX got its first outing at the Detroit Auto Show in 2012 and is being developed by Honda in the US with the aim of producing a ‘green’ supercar with advanced environmental performance without sacrificing on-road performance. The 2015 NSX will not only be designed in the US, but built there too The new NSX gets a mid-mounted direct-injection V6 which drives power through Honda’s Sport hybrid SH-AWD system with 2 electric motors that can apply positive or negative torque to the front wheels during cornering which, say Honda, will deliver handling unmatched by other all-wheel-drive systems. Phil Crossman, Honda’s UK MD, said: We are really pleased with the interest we’ve already seen for the new NSX. We are still two years away from the launch of the car and yet we’ve received over 20 deposits and that’s before we’ve even announced prices or seen the final production car.
