Up for sale is one Valeo alternator, model VY2700, made in Poland. This alternator was purchased to put on a 1982 Porsche 928 but I never got around to installing it. It is 14volt, 90 Amp.

The Porsche part number code is 928.603.114.01/262. My 928 was an '82. Check 928 performance parts dealers to make sure this will fit yours.

I took it out of the box and inspected it but never installed it - so it is practically new.

Please look at the photos, and by all means, send me questions or comments - I will be happy to reply. Thanks!

One Lap of the Web: Mercedes-Benz SLC rendered, Google Glass for the Tesla S and a rusty Datsun 280ZX

Mon, 08 Jul 2013

We spend a lot of time on the Internet -- pretty much whenever we're not driving, writing about or working on cars. Since there's more out there than we'd ever be able to cover, here's our daily digest of car stuff on the Web you may not otherwise have heard about. -- Last month we brought you some intriguing spy photos of a Porsche 911-fighting Mercedes-Benz coupe -- possibly to be called the SLC, or even the next SLS AMG (it's all a bit unclear at this point) -- but layers of camouflage made it a bit tough to see what the car will look like.

Trident Iceni 6.6 litre diesel V8 at Salon Prive

Thu, 23 Aug 2012

Salon Prive 2012 will play host to the Trident Iceni Grand Tourer – a custom built 6.6 litre V8 diesel-powered supercar – next month. Diesel engines and high performance cars – however good diesel engines have now become – are not synonymous with supercars. But no one seems to have told Norfolk car makers Trident.

(Another) Audi A3 e-tron hybrid at Geneva 2013

Thu, 21 Feb 2013

The Audi A3 e-tron – a hybrid A3 EV based on the A3 Sportback – will debut at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show as a concept. This Audi A3 e-tron isn’t a pointless electric supercar – like the R8 e-tron – or another rollout of the A3 e-tron BEV, but a hybrid A3 with a proper ICE engine coupled to an electric motor, just like the A3 e-tron concept we saw in Shanghai in 2011 That still means a lot of complicated and heavy technology to game the silly official economy tests and come up with ‘official’ economy figures of 158mpg and 35g/km, but the A3 e-tron would – if it were made – offer big tax breaks for company car drivers. The A3 e-tron gets a 1.4 litre direct injection petrol engine good for 148bhp working with an electric motor good for an extra 100bhp.
