Koenigsegg Agera & Agera R 2012 updates

The Agera & Agera R get a raft of tweaks for 2012 Koenigsegg has revealed improvements to the Agera and Agera R for 2012, which will debut at Geneva next week. We’re not sure just how many Koenigsegg Agera R models have actually been built and delivered (or the standard Agera R, for that matter), but however many it is it’s not more than a handful. Still, standing still means going backwards – whether you’ve built a single car or a million – so Christian von Koenigsegg and his men in the snow in a shed in Sweden have been busy putting the Agera and Agera R at the cutting edge for 2012 models.

Smart Fortwo Lightshine launches

Yet another Smart Limited Edition - the Smart Fortwo Lightshine You have to hand it to Mercedes – they don’t give up on Smart (or Maybach – another expensive departure). They keep churning out new cars (well, endless new limited editions, anyway) despite sales that seem to keep falling. This is the new Audi R18, Ingolstadt’s latest LMP1 endurance racer which will compete in the 2011 Le Mans 24 Hours. Compared to its R15 predecessor, the new Audi R18 has gained a roof and the mandatory-for-2011 ‘shark fin’ engine cover, but it’s lost four cylinders – the R18 is powered by a turbocharged V6. It is – like the R10 and R15, the R18 is an oil-burner.
