Vintage VDO Cockpit 52mm 12 volt analogue clock for fitment to motorcycles from the mid 1970's to early 1980's.

The gauge is new, in very good condition and has not been trial installed.

This is the only motorcycle version of VDO's quartz movement aftermarket analogue clock which I have seen anywhere.

The clock is mounted in a metal early version of VDO's gauge mount which has a rubber isolation pad between the mounting bracket and the gauge mount.  The clock appears to have a different sealing arrangement compared to normal VDO clocks around the external adjustement knob and the clock glass presumably to give it weather proofing.

The clock has a manufacture date of February 1982.

The clock comes with original packaging and instructions

The clock has been tested to ensure that it works properly.

Mercedes-Benz SLS prepped to go GT3 racing

Tue, 23 Mar 2010

Mercedes-Benz AMG pulled the wraps off its new race car on Monday in Oaxaca, Mexico, scene of a commemoration of Mercedes' victory in the 1952 Carrera Panamericana. The new SLS GT3 is a modified Mercedes-Benz SLS intended to meet FIA homologation requirements for the GT3 class in series throughout the world. While it's not known what the production car will look like when it starts going to customers either this fall--according to the press release--or "before the start of the 2011 racing season," according to AMG's Thomas Rappel, the prototype shown in Oaxaca had a full roll cage, a new front skirt with splitter, rear diffusers and an enormous rear wing.

McLaren’s Jenson Button & Lewis Hamilton get animated

Wed, 11 Jul 2012

McLaren has teamed up with Framestore to produce a series of animated – and amusing – cartoons showing on Sky F1. Somehow, despite having the British Grand Prix in one window and the Andy Murray match at Wimbledon in another on Sunday, we managed to miss this cartoon featuring McLaren, Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button on Sky F1. It seems Sky F1 will be featuring a new cartoon from McLaren at every Grand Prix for the rest of the season, and if they are up to this standard they’ll be well worth looking forward to.
