1980 Cessna Skyhawk 172N Information Manual 172 D1172-13 Printed 9/89. This slightly more recent factory information manual, printed 9/89, is in very good sound condition. No writing or missing or torn pages. The cover is clean and shiny with only a wee bit of shelf wear. The book has numerous pages that have been bent somewhat as though the book had been pushed rather carelessly into a kitbag. But really quite nice. Please examine the photos carefully for a full understanding of what we are talking about. I have been a bit harsh describing this book, but that has been in the interest of full disclosure. Look closely, it is not bad for a 26 year old manual. There is certainly plenty of good studying left in the clean white pages. Always check for revisions, supplements, and updates with vintage manuals.

If your old 80 Skyhawk book looks like crap or is falling apart, buy this one.

U.S. unveils blueprint to tackle driver distraction

Thu, 07 Jun 2012

Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood said Thursday the agency isn't looking at new regulations to address distracted driving, but rather is calling on automakers to step up voluntary efforts to combat risks with new technologies and education. LaHood, who's made distracted driving a top automotive safety priority of the Obama administration, said he's met with the CEOs of numerous automakers and feels confident "they're committed to safety." He even praised Subaru of America for a TV ad that highlighted the dangers of driver distraction. The commercial featured a father talking to his teenage daughter about the risks of using a cell phone while on the road.

Travis Pastrana canes the Global RallyCross Dodge Dart: Video

Wed, 04 Apr 2012

While Erik Carlsson showed the world that lunacy had an appropriate place in rallying—they didn't call him "Carlsson on the Roof" for nothing—it took Ken Block's marketing savvy and the paste-it-anywhere-and-watch ubiquity of YouTube to get a broad swath of American kids amped on the antic fun that can be had with an all-terrain compact car. In a bid to get that same group excited about the new Dodge Dart, Chrysler enlisted Travis Pastrana to pilot its Global RallyCross entry. And in a sort of low-budget, less-elaborate version of Block's wacky-upon-zany Gymkhana videos, Pastrana puts the Dart through its paces, losing the passenger-side rear corner of the bodywork in the process.
