The SCOUT KS42 BLUE is the ultimate marine boat VHF antenna in navy blue with a navy blue rubber tip and a stainless steel ferrule base. It uses standard threading to fit universally to any mount. Length is 8 ft. Unlike any other, Scout uses a unique pressure injected foam technology that inhibits condensation and corrosion to protect the perfectly tuned antenna’s core. Painted with automobile quality paint and finished with a clear glossy UV protection coat to keep the antenna looking new for many years in the ocean spray outdoor environment. The reception obtained with this antenna is outstanding due in part to the 16.4ft (5m) robust tinned copper braid shielding in the Scout RG58 cable. This reduces electrical interference. Low quality VHF antennas use the cable to tune the antenna and can not be trimmed. With Scout antennas, you can cut the cable to your desired length before attaching the PL259/RG58 male connector. Get the most out of your VHF radio with this antenna, your maritime communications and safety depend on it. Scout has been hand making the best marine antennas since 1982 in a second generation family owned facility in Modena, Italy not far from where Ferrari, Maserati, and Lamborghini's are built. Miami Boat Gear is the US distributor. For the widest selection and lowest prices please visit MIAMIBOATGEAR.COM. Ships out of Miami, FL in 2 days or less so you can expect to receive your products quickly. Installation instructions are included.

Andy Saunders sells 'Art Cars' collection

Tue, 04 Nov 2008

British 'car artist' Andy Saunders' 'Art Car' collection was sold by RM Auctions in London, UK on October 29, along with a selection of classic cars and a McLaren F1 that sold for £2.5 million - a new world record. Though lacking the quality of many Californian custom cars when seen close up, the Art Cars were fascinating to see, and unlike other custom car creators, Saunders has made almost all of the cars for himself; conceiving and creating the cars without any design process beyond thinking them through and getting his hands dirty in evenings after work.  Each of the cars introduced new themes not evident in their donor designs and, within the context of many salubrious but established classic car designs at the auction, they had a powerful quixotic appeal. So why is he selling them?
