Here is a vintage original early under-dash accessory Harrison heater. The guy I got it from told me it came out of a 1938 Oldsmobile, and that it was the style used in the 1938-39 models. He seemed knowledgeable on these cars, but I'm not really familiar with them so I don't know for sure all of the specific years, makes and models it would be correct for. I do know that the 1930's and 1940's Harrison heaters were a GM option, most common for the Chevrolet models. I believe the design on the emblem makes it correct for the late 1930's Oldsmobile- the last photo is for reference purposes only, showing a 1938 Olds grille emblem, which seems to match the design of the emblem on the heater. The emblem doesn't say Oldsmobile (or anything else), so the heater would look just fine in most any other vehicle from the same era. It has a nice smaller size to it- measuring about 9" tall and 8" wide at the front. The depth of the case is about 6" at the center, with the overall depth (measured to where the bracket mounts to the firewall) at about 8".

The original condition looks good for the age. It does show some typical wear with lighter surface rust overall where the paint is thin/worn away. The center emblem shows some aging as well with loss of color and finish- it appears to be a stamped brass piece that was possibly plated originally, and it shows a few smaller dings and dents, etc. One issue concerns the door hinges, where one on each side has broken. These hinges are a simple "L" shaped pin that could probably be repaired, or rather easily fabricated. I've even seen some of these hinges listed for sale on ebay as a lot of the Harrison heaters from this era used the same type. I don't have a 6V battery available to test the fan motor, but the blade assembly is not stuck- it does spin freely. The heater core itself doesn't show any obvious damage, just a kink in one of the water tubes towards the end (where it would enter the engine compartment). About all I can see is an older solder repair at the base where one of the water tubes from the backside connects to the core. Overall it certainly looks restorable- these vintage heaters look great with the case painted black using the "wrinkle" type finish, as many came this way originally (not sure for this particular style). NO RESERVE. Please see my other auctions for more VINTAGE HOT ROD PARTS AND MEMORABILIA to be listed shortly. Thanks for looking, Chris.

*AFTER THE AUCTION IS OVER, PLEASE WAIT FOR THE INVOICE TO BE SENT BEFORE PAYING SO I CAN CALCULATE THE CORRECT SHIPPING COSTS.

*I WILL STILL ACCEPT ANY FORMS OF PAYMENT AS ALLOWED BY EBAY.

*TO SAVE ON SHIPPING COSTS I WILL COMBINE AUCTION WINS (WHEN POSSIBLE), BUT I DO ASK THAT PAYMENT BE SENT ASAP ON THE FIRST INVOICE AND ANY CHANGES WITH COMBINED SHIPPING COSTS WILL BE MADE ON SUBSEQUENT INVOICES.

** I apologize for the following "fine print". I never bothered with this previously, but due to ebay's changes, it has now become a necessary evil:

SHIPPING: Ebay now requires the shipping calculator to be included in all auctions. Please be aware that although the costs listed will in most instances be basically correct, these are not always accurate. Any significant differences up or down will be adjusted on the invoice. The shipping costs listed here are estimates only (not always including the insurance/delivery confirmation costs), as I do not package items until after the auction ends. DUE TO PAYPAL'S POLICIES, I NOW REQUIRE INSURANCE ON ALL PACKAGES VALUED OVER $25.00 (AND DELIVERY CONFIRMATION ON ALL USPS PACKAGES), AS WELL AS DELIVERY SIGNATURES ON ALL PACKAGES VALUED AT $250.00 AND HIGHER. THESE WILL BE ADDED WITH THE SHIPPING COSTS ON THE INVOICE.

    INTERNATIONAL BIDDERS:

Please be aware that although both USPS first class and priority shipping may be listed in the calculator, all packages valued over $25 will need to be insured and only priority packages can be sent with insurance coverage. First class shipping is less expensive, and I will try to ship at the best rate possible, but often times the more expensive priority rate is the only one available when insurance coverage is needed.

The Audi R8 LMX (pictured) is the first production car with laser lights The new Audi R8 LMX is actually the most powerful R8 road car Audi has produced, but they seem keener you know that it has laser beam headlights. But that’s because they’ve beaten BMW to the punch on the laser front. As a run-out version of the current R8, the R8 LMX has a lot to offer, with more power, more toys, a hefty price tag and a debut in the UK at the Goodwood Festival of Speed next month.

Audi A1 Quattro (2012) first official pictures

Wed, 21 Dec 2011

This is the Audi A1 Quattro, a 252bhp and four-wheel drive hot hatch that’s as exclusive as an R8 GT Spyder. Just 333 Audi A1 Quattros will ever be built so they’ll be a rare sight on the road – and particularly in Britain as the entire production run is left-hand drive, and Audi UK will import a tiny number only if there’s enough customer interest. So I probably can’t afford an Audi A1 Quattro, and I might never see one – what am I missing out on?
