ONE PAIR OF RUNNING BOARD CHROME STRIPS TAKEN OFF OF A 1940 BUICK SPECIAL COUPE. THESE STRIPS ARE IN EXCEPTIONAL SHAPE. EACH HAS A COUPLE VERY SMALL IMPERFECTIONS THAT ARE BARELY VISIBLE. THESE ARE A RARE FIND. THEY ARE 55 1/2" LONG.  EACH IS TAGGED SO YOU KNOW RIGHT FROM LEFT. RED STRIP NEEDS REPAINTED. SOME MOUNTING CLIPS INCLUDED. CHECK THESE OVER FOR YOUR APPLICATION.


GM delays second shift at Volt plant

General Motors is delaying the addition of a second shift at its Michigan assembly plant that makes the Chevrolet Volt. In May, GM said that it would add a second shift at its Detroit-Hamtramck plant by late this fall to double Volt production. Instead, a plant overhaul completed this summer, along with a more-modest addition of workers, will allow GM to double production starting early next year while remaining on one shift, the company said Friday.

Pininfarina took the wraps off its latest bespoke creation at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance this past weekend. Called the Hyperion, one of the Titans of Greek mythology, the car was created for collector Robert Hall by the coachbuilder's Special Projects Division. It was inspired by the proportions of cars from the 1930s.

The jury of the 2012 Michelin Challenge Design has selected and released images of its 27 finalists, chosen from a huge number of designs submitted by aspiring automotive designers. The competition's theme, ‘City 2046: Art, Life and Ingenuity', saw more than 1,700 registrants representing 88 countries which left the jury reviewing over 200 projects. Michelin set all participants a challenging brief, calling for designs for a "desirable, safe and sustainable personal vehicle" specifically for Los Angeles, Mumbai, Paris, Rio de Janeiro or Shanghai.
