Condition:Used

This Evinrude "Sportwin" is complete with screw driver, spark plug wrench, extra shear pins and cotter pin. Also included are the operating and general instructions for model 4423 (see photo) and a 1948 Holiday Magazine ad of the "Sportwin". (see photo) This is a post WWll built engine, when many former military engineers were hired by the Outboard manufactures resulting in new innovative features introduced on new outboards. Example: Screw driver built into the tiller handle. The screw driver could then be used to take off the right cowling where a spark plug wrench, spare shear pins and cotter pin are located (see photo). Also the "weedless prop", co-pilot steering and a fuel gauge on the self contained fuel tank were relatively new features at the time.
This is a rare, complete, original outboard motor that is in excellent shape. It has been in my collection for over 25 years. Engine ran great about 5 years ago at an antique outboard meet. After the meet, the gas tank and carb were completely cleaned and the gear oil was changed then "put back on the shelf".  Both cylinders have spark and both have 90 psi compression and water pump worked fine last time out. Due to it's age is being sold as "not running", but should start right up with fresh gas put into the tank. I'm moving to Florida, so this "little guy" must go. I will pack and box engine for free and buyer pays the actual shipping cost computed after the sale. Local pick up is free! Feel free to ask questions. Thanks for looking!

Victor Muller sells Spyker sports cars to CPP

Thu, 24 Feb 2011

Supercar maker Spyker is to be sold. Coventry-based coachbuilder CPP has announced a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to buy Spyker Cars from Spyker Cars N.V, the holding company which owns Spyker and Saab. No. Saab remains under the ownership of Dutch company Spyker Cars N.V. This sale is of Spyker, the manufacturer of flamboyantly detailed mid-engined supercars. CPP has been supplying chassis and body panels for Spyker since the brand was relaunched in 2000, and completed an agreement to handle full manufacturing of the current range in 2009 – the production of Spyker cars moved from the Netherlands to Coventry in 2010.   The MOU, valued at €32m, will mean that CPP Global Holdings Ltd will become manufacturer and owner of Spyker – €15m will be paid straight away, with the remaining €17m paid over a six year 'earn-out' period.
