We recently purchased the contents of a barn from a life long collector of vintage car parts. Check out our other auctions and "The Old Car Parts Store" for similar items that have been in storage for the past 40+ years.

Here is a PAIR OF VINTAGE REAR AIR INTAKE VENT SCOOPS FROM A 1961 CADILLAC. I believe the model is Fleetwood Series 75 but may fit other models as well. These are ultra rare and very hard to find. They are in very good used condition. There are no dings, dents, or cracks. The only notable flaw is some moderate to heavy pitting here and there on the chrome grills but really not too bad. The mounting studs are all in tact and threads are in good condition (just recently removed from the car with no issues). Each vent body is overall: 6" long, 3 1/2" wide and 2 1/4" high. The duct tube out the bottom is 2" wide and 1 1/4" long. If you are doing a restoration and need these then you already know how hard these are to find. They will also make a great addition to a Rat Rod or custom job (very cool pieces). Please check out the pictures and ask questions before bidding. The Porsche 918 Spyder (pictured) laps the Nurburgring in under 7 minutes When the McLaren P1 was first revealed, Ron Dennis told us it would lap the Nurburgring in under 7 minutes. But it seems the best the McLaren P1 has managed so far is a 7:04, so it’s no surprise McLaren hasn’t officially declared its time as they probably knew it wasn’t enough, but also knew that Porsche has managed to take the new 918 Spyder round the ‘Ring in just 6:57s. That 6:57 by the Porsche 918 Spyder isn’t quite as quick as the Radical, but as the Radical has only single type approval, Porsche are justifiably claiming the 918 Spyder’s time as the quickest by a proper production car, beating the previous record of 7:11s set by the Gumpert Apollo.

The same technology that saved IndyCar driver Simona De Silvestro from serious injury in a recent crash at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway might soon be helping protect children in car seats. Dorel Juvenile Group, a car-seat manufacturer, is partnering with racing-product developers at Bald Spot Sports to use cockpit material that insulates racers from crashes in child-safety technology. Dorel makes child-safety items under brand names such as Safety 1st and Cosco.

2015 VW Jetta makes global debut at New York auto show

The 2015 Volkswagen Jetta is making its global debut at the New York auto show, and the changes for the new model year -- while not exactly breathtaking -- should help VW's volume-seller keep up with the competition. That includes the likes of the 2015 Chevrolet Cruze and 2015 Ford Focus, which are also showing off refreshes in the Big Apple. To start, VW says the mildly redesigned front fascia reduces drag (and gives a “wider and more substantial look” to boot!) with a new bumper and air intakes.
