I bought a bunch of stuff from a retiring motocross and road racer.  Some Norton Manx stuff, come CZ stuff, Ariel stuff and so on.  So while I started cleaning out my vintage motocross and flat track stuff now I have stuff that I know little to nothing about.

So what I have in this auction here is:

  • a virtually complete vintage CZ 250 #980 motor
  • I believe this 980 serial number means it is a vintage 250 motocross engine.
  • crank is stuck from sitting in a garage in California for the last 20 years. piston moves about freely.
  • I didn't see and cracks in the lower end or missing or broken fins on the head and cylinder.
  • Obviously needs to be torn down and at least the bearings replaced.  But it does look preserved.
  • I pulled off the ignition cover to look at the ignition and it looks great.  The cover is included in the auction.
  • Not exactly sure what year it is but I'd guess 1972 - 1974.
  • Great for YOUR CZ build or an upgrade to your broken or cracked CZ motor.
  • Feel free to make me an offer if you like - I have no idea what this might be worth.
  • $100 shipping in the USA - may go in two boxes but if shipping is a lot cheaper I'll refund the difference.  Pickup is always welcome.

What you see is what you are bidding on!! Thanks for looking and bid early and often!!!

There is just no way to guess shipping costs worldwide......  so....

If you are an international bidder please wait for an invoice before you pay so I can get a more accurate shipping cost!!
Not responsible for uninsured shipments. Will not ship overseas without insurance.

Pininfarina family to lose control of company

Wed, 15 Feb 2012

The Pininfarina family is set to lose its controlling share stake in the company as it takes a step closer to restructuring its €76 million net debt. The Italian design firm, founded in 1930, has been plagued with debt in recent years, shutting its manufacturing branch in 2011 to concentrate purely on design, ending a joint venture with Volvo that saw the company assemble Volvo's C70. The move is seen as a positive one for the company in the long-term, making it more financially secure for future developments, but it also means that the Pininfarina family will lose control of the company by selling its 77 percent share.

La Dolce Vita won't return to Monterey in 2010

Tue, 26 Jan 2010

La Dolce Vita, the second big Italian-car event of the Big Monterey Weekend, will not return for 2010. First, some background: La Dolce Vita came about when Concorso Italiano, the longtime favorite of Italian-car lovers at Monterey, moved from the Black Horse Golf Club to an airport north of Monterey two years ago. The airport location was panned by attendees for its cold, windswept concrete and general lack of character.

Aeromobil flying car takes to the skies!

Wed, 30 Oct 2013

For nearly 100 years, inventors, entrepreneurs and men in sheds have been attempting to combine the car with an aeroplane, with the ultimate aim of creating a car that flies. Yet the flying car still remains the reserve of science fiction films and action movies. But wait.
