Kia announces new concept to debut in Frankfurt
Fri, 09 Aug 2013Kia will unveil a new B-segment concept at next month's Frankfurt motor show, following from the similarly sized recent Provo and CUB concepts. The unnamed concept, previewed in two renders, is said to feature a mix of contrasting materials inside the compact car and has been designed in Europe to suit European tastes and expectations. The interior render shows a one-piece seat base for driver and passenger, pierced by a pair of braces that support the IP.
Volkswagen Passat Alltrack: The VW Allroad arrives
Wed, 23 Nov 2011The VW Passat Alltrack - debuts in Tokyo Volkswagen has jumped on to the Allroad bandwagon with its own take on Audi’s faux off-roader, with the reveal of the 2012 VW Passat Alltrack. As you would expect, the Passat Alltrack is a butched-up Passat Estate with a raised ride height, extra bits of plastic round the bumpers, skid plates, flared side sills and 4WD – VW’s 4MOTION – for more traction in boot sale car parks. But when you don’t need the 4WD, around 90 poer cent of the drive is through the front wheels – saving fuel – with the rear wheel drive only coming in to play when you start to slip and slide.
Brits would rather drive than walk
Wed, 25 Jun 2014ALMOST HALF (47%) of all people in the UK would rather drive than walk for a journey of up to one mile and 48% drive to work instead of trying to use any other form of transport. Despite a one mile journey taking very little more time to walk than drive, only 38% of drivers said they would use their feet in place of the car for such short journeys. Even though short journeys cause the most pollution and damage to cars, half said they would still drive.
