This radio came with several we just acquired. It's a vintage 1960's or 1970's AM FM. There are absolutely no names on the radio, we even removed top and bottom covers to check for a name, could possible be a Bowman as we have another Bowman radio that is similar to this. Model number, SC 4600F, is clearly seen in picture 2. We tested the radio and it plays super on both bands. Faceplate is 3 5/8" x 1 1/2". Knobs and bezels are very nice and the stems are adjustable from 4 7/8" CTC to 5 1/8" CTC.

Here's your chance to buy a working AM FM for very little.

Next Dodge Viper will shed some rough edges

Fri, 18 Nov 2011

Little by little we're getting a clearer picture of the next-generation Dodge Viper SRT10. During a conversation with Dodge boss Reid Bigland at the Los Angeles auto show, Bigland told me the redesigned Viper "will appeal to a broader segment of the market." The car is expected to debut in 2012 but is not likely to appear at the Detroit auto show, he says. Today's Viper is essentially a street-legal race car.

Listen: Upcoming Ford Focus ST to employ sound symposer

Mon, 14 May 2012

While BMW employs a digitally sanitized/perfected sound file to give M5 owners the proper sense of aggro urgency when motoring at pace, Porsche went a little more organic with its employment of a sound symposer to feed the 911's flat-six growl into the cabin of the extra-refined 991. Essentially, the sound symposer is an electrically controlled diaphragm in a tuned sound tube that brings the proper engine noises into the passenger compartment. It can be opened and closed by the car's onboard electronics to offer snarl when you want it and serenity when you don't.
