I was told this is a bike headlamp,its old and in the condition you see it in the photo's .Front lens is cracked but inside lens has a small chip by the edge of it. Hinge opens and latches .I am not familiar with this item , but with the green and red glass buttons on the sides, it leads me to think this is an bicycle headlamp light. It measures approximately 6 inches high, the area where the light would come from is 3 inches round .

But Volvo have been working an an alternative for the last 3.5 years which can potentially do away with the battery and instead store power in body panels. Volvo has built an experimental S80 which has body panels made of carbon fibre and polymer resins and structural super capacitors.
