Here is a solid brass carburetor from the 1920s marked SCHEBLER  INDIANAPOLOLIS, IND. No model marked. The bolt hole is 5/8" and the air intake opening is 1 1/4". I measured inner rim to inner rim vs. outer edges The center to center distance of the bolts that hold on the "elbow" looking air intake section on the top of the carb is about 2 3/4".  No other information available but email me if you have any questions.

Another ebayer stated "It's a model D Schebler carb, they were used on stationary engines and some motorcycles during the 1910 to 1925 period. They were also very big in the marine engines too. Once its turned right side up, the configuration yours is in is a marine configuration, if the little bulbous intake was on the side pointing up, it would have gone on a land vehicle or a stationary engine of some sort between the dates I mentioned, maybe even a little bit earlier than 1910, like 1905-ish."

Is this the Lamborghini URUS?

Sat, 30 Jul 2011

Is this Aventador with Veyron wheels the Lamborghini Urus in the making? What is the Lamborghini Urus, you may ask? Regular readers will know that back at the time when we were hearing that the replacement for the Murcielago would probably be called the Jota (yes, we got the name wrong but all the other details were right) a contact at Lamborghini told us they were working on a super Aventador (as it is now called) aimed at taking out the new Enzo when that arrives (the Ferrari F70).

Sun, 20 Jul 2014

The BYD E6 EV (pictured) will benefit from China’s push on EVs The UK government has just announced its commitment to use electric cars for its own vehicles in an effort to boost the take-up of EVs, but China is going even further. China has ordered government officials to start buying electric cars (that means BEVs, plug-in hybrids and hydrogen fuel cell cars) in a big way, with instructions that 30 per cent of government cars must fall in to the ‘New Energy’ category by 2017, and an even higher percentage going forward. The aim is to cut pollution, and China expects to have 5 million New Energy cars on the road by 2020 and it isĀ urging it government agencies and some city governments to start buying New Energy vehicles from Chinese makers like BYD and SDAIC, but also instructing them to build more charging stations and supporting infrastructure.
