Condition:Used Brand:Apelco Country/Region of Manufacture:United States Manufacturer Part Number:MR-201C

This is a cool vintage piece. A depth chart recorder for recording the depth of the ocean. May have been used to find fish as well. Runs off 12v DC. Uses a strobe/ timing technology with fine wire on a spinning wheel to apply small nicks in a slowly scrolling paper chart. I checked it out with a 12 v battery as shown. This didn't have a transducer with it. All the functions seem to work though.
Made by Apelco of Manchester, NH. Which I believe was bought by Raytheon Marine.

Vauxhall Astra VXR (2012) gets revealed We’ve been expecting news of the new 2012 Vauxhall Astra VXR for a while, especially as Vauxhall intend launching the hot Astra in 2012. And now we have a little more on the VXR – and some photos – although Vauxhall hasn’t put a price on the Astra VXR yet. The Astra VXR is based on the underpinnings of the Astra GTC – which Vauxhall managed to reveal at least three times before it finally went on sale – so it has two doors, a longer wheelbase and a wider track than its five-door rep-mobile sibling.

Ford eyes dandelions as sustainable alternative to synthetic rubber

Tue, 17 May 2011

Ford, in conjunction with Ohio State University, is turning to the humble garden weed as sustainable resource, researching the dandelion's potential use as an alternative to synthetic rubber. While the automaker already makes considerable use of sustainable materials in its vehicles – such as soy foam seat cushions and straw-filled plastic for interior trim – this latest discovery opens up a wealth of new possibilities for automotive applications. According to research conducted by Ford, a milky-white substance that is found in certain dandelion roots can produce a sustainable rubber that could be used to create plastic parts for vehicle interiors.
