These are a pair of vintage lap belts from about 50 years ago. This type of belt does not have two parts that latch together. Instead the webbing is fed through the bucket and the buckle cinches down on the webbing restricting it movement. These belts include original body attachment hardware. These were made by Rupert Parachute Co. in Wheeling, Illinois.

These would be appropriate for a WWII Jeep or other military vehicle. They are both the same length. The belts are in reasonable good condition for their age. There is minor pitting on the chrome latch and one of the belts has some slight fraying on one edge. The belts themselves could be cleaned or replaced, if desired.

Jaguar XJ Review (2012): 3.0 litre Diesel Portfolio LWB

Sun, 17 Jun 2012

We’ve had the latest version of the Jaguar XJ in for review – the LWB 3.0 litre Diesel Portfolio with Sports Packs – to see how the XJ is maturing. It’s getting on for two years since we had the first Jaguar XJ in for review, and almost three years since we first saw the new XJ at the Saatchi Gallery in London, almost a year before Jaguar managed to get their new range-topper in to showrooms. In between we had a long-term XJ in for review which was with us for four months and proved to be far more reliable than the early car we had in – which did have problems – and a car we covered most the UK in with almost nothing in the way of hiccups.

MINI Cooper SD: Official

MINI Cooper SD finally arrives - in all variants There have been times since we first flagged up the possibility of a Cooper S version of the MINI complete with diesel lump – the MINI Cooper SD – that we thought we might be barking up the wrong tree. It always seemed the sensible route to go as the world become obsessed with economy, but didn’t seem inclined to give up a bit of style and kudos. It would also – at a stroke – add a new version to each model in the MINI range.
