These are a pair of vintage lap belts from about 50 years ago. This type of belt does not have two parts that latch together. Instead the webbing is fed through the bucket and the buckle cinches down on the webbing restricting it movement. These belts include original body attachment hardware. These were made by Rupert Parachute Co. in Wheeling, Illinois.

These would be appropriate for a WWII Jeep or other military vehicle. They are both the same length. The belts are in reasonable good condition for their age. There is minor pitting on the chrome latch and one of the belts has some slight fraying on one edge. The belts themselves could be cleaned or replaced, if desired.

Last month, General Motors notified Chevrolet dealers of the added cost for tools, among other requirements, to keep selling and servicing the Volt. The math didn't work for Allyn Barnard, owner of Jim Barnard Chevrolet in Churchville, N.Y., near Rochester.
