Vintage Chris Craft Chrome Vent on 2040-parts.com
Nine Mile Falls, Washington, US
Carefully removed by me from a 1949 CC Sedan Cruiser that was headed for the burn pit, this large chrome air vent is in very good condition. Chrome is in good shape - no pitting, and shines up very nicely. Chris Craft logo, P/N (5808), and Algonac Brass Works logo on the back side - no Perko here!
This is a heavy brass chrome plated casting - weight is almost 11 lbs. It is 14" long, nearly 8" tall, and 3.5" wide at the base. This is the real deal from a 55 year old Chris Craft.
See my other listing for cleats removed from the same vessel.

“Where is the sustainable vehicle design?”
Wed, 28 Apr 2010The notion of a 'new paradigm in car design' was a theme running through talks by five panelists at London's Royal College of Art last week, who debated "Seriously now, where is the sustainable vehicle design?" Despite disparate backgrounds, there was broad agreement that a truly sustainable form of personal transportation is unlikely to come from an established automotive firm any time soon. Panelist Rob Holdway of Giraffe Innovation was most vocal in his approach to the subject, saying "Frankly, I think the car is unacceptable - we hear a lot about the sustainable car, but I don't think there is such a thing as a sustainable car". The audience - made up mainly of RCA students - also heard from Nico Sergent of Riversimple about how the company's seven-point business model, and its open source strategy, incentivized the company to build a truly sustainable car and mobility package that the current auto model simply doesn't allow.
Honda Civic Ti, Accord Facelift (2011) at Geneva
Wed, 16 Feb 2011The Honda Civic Type R might have died, but Honda today released pictures of its stylistic equal: the race-inspired but humdrum-powered Civic Ti. Honda says the new Civic Ti takes design cues from the Honda touring car and adds more than £3700 of extras to the 1.4 and 1.8 i-VTEC SE models. The five-door Civic is fitted with 17-inch 'Pro race' matt black wheels from Honda's BTCC racing partner, Team Dynamics. The broody black bodykit includes front spoiler, rear spoiler side inserts and rear body skirts - all contrasting the white pearl paintjob.

Sun, 26 May 2013The two Mercedes out front at the start of the 2013 Monaco Grand Prix With a Mercedes front row – and Rosberg on pole – can Mercedes finally turn their stunning qualifying in to a stunning result in Monaco? The two Mercedes out front at the start of the 2013 Monaco Grand Prix Monaco can often be a bit of a procession, with limited opportunities to pass, and the 2013 Monaco Grand Prix was no different. But it was so interspersed with accident and incident that it sidelined the boring bits to irrelevance and made for a cracking spectacle, a spectacle that ended, where it started, with Nico Rosberg taking a Mercedes win in his home Grand Prix.
