Our friends over at Jalopnik are currently at Jaguar F-Type media event over in Seattle, where they had a chance to catch up with its design Wayne Burgess (check out our full interview with him here), who revealed some interesting sources of inspiration for some of its detailing. The first is a real easter egg - a detail that once you've discovered it you can't help but see - the front lamp cans are based on Star Wars' TIE Fighter. What has been seen can not be unseen.

This is the new Audi Q5 Hybrid Quattro. It’s Audi’s first hybrid road car, and combines a turbocharged 2.0-litre petrol engine, an electric motor and lithium-ion batteries in a Q5 SUV body. Unfortunately this system isn’t Audi’s much-anticipated electric Quattro system, with a combustion engine driving the front wheels and an electric-powered rear axle – the Q5 Hybrid has permanent four-wheel drive.

One of the motoren in the titular Bayerische Motoren Werkeis about to get smaller. How small, you ask? The three-cylinder in the cherry-red hatchback shown above is in fact one of BMW's legendary inline-sixes, albeit chopped in half with the proverbial Sawzall.
