Subaru’s WRC Impreza rally car (2008): first pictures

The Prodrive-developed five-door WRC car, which is based on Subaru’s hatchback Impreza, uses the same 2.0-litre turbo engine that powered the old rally car, but does away with the traditional yellow lettering in favour of Subaru’s silver and white corporate logo. Hardcore fans panic not: the blue paintwork and iconic gold wheels stay.

Toyota goes on offensive, seeks 100 percent owner response to recall notice

Toyota Motor Corp., spurred by criticism that previous recalls failed to prompt enough owners to seek fixes, hopes to distribute mailings this week to the 2.3 million owners targeted in a January recall. Toyota says it will be vigilant in reaching each of the affected customers and hopes to have all repairs done within 90 days. Halfway to glory: Fiat Panda midway through African run

On Feb. 1, British rally drivers Philip Young and Paul Brace set out to make the trek from Cape Town, South Africa to London in 10 days -- in a tiny Fiat Panda city car. They’re now halfway through their journey and well on their way to breaking the standing 14-day record for the 10,300-mile run.
