Mercedes unveils powerful new AMG 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8
Fri, 25 Jul 2014By John Mahoney Motor Industry 25 July 2014 17:09 Mercedes AMG has released details of an all-new 503bhp 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 that will help fill the void when the production of its normally aspirated 6.2-litre V8 ends. Lightweight, compact and more efficient than the big 6.2-litre it replaces, the new smaller capacity turbocharged V8 produces 479lb ft from just 1750rpm. The first car to receive the new engine will be the Porsche 911-rivalling Mercedes AMG GT, but other smaller cars like the C63 AMG are also set to benefit from its compact design.

The Kode9 coupé, as teased in a behind-the-scenes video, follows on from the Kode7 first shown in 2008 and, if the video is any indication, this voluminous, 1960s-inspired creation will continue that car's attention to delightful detail. Hyundai global design teams develop 'My Baby' internal project contest ideas
Thu, 04 Jul 2013Hyundai has revealed the designs submitted for its 'My Baby' global internal design project. The project – a biennial contest that started in 2008 – asked the carmaker's design teams to use ‘new thinking' to preview a future without technological or manufacturing limits. Hyundai designers from bases in Korea, the USA, China, Japan, Europe and India were also tasked with reinterpreting and developing the carmaker's ‘Fluidic Sculpture' design language.
