Vintage Guide R8-50-1 Tail Light - Harley / Indian Motorcycle - Flathead Rat Rod on 2040-parts.com

We recently purchased the contents of a barn from a life long collector of vintage car parts.  Check out our other auctions and "The Old Car Parts Store" for similar items that have been in storage for the past 40+ years.

Here is a VINTAGE GUIDE R8-50-1 TAIL LIGHT ASSEMBLY.  I am unfamiliar with the specific application of this unit but I would guess it to be vintage motorcycle.  It is in good+ to very good used condition.  The housing is in great shape with no dings or dents.  The trim bezel that retains the red glass lens has a mild imperfection that is small and isolated (minor).  There are traces of mild surface scratches and some tiny contact marks but these too are small and minor.  The chrome finish has a very mild milky haze covering it and there are areas where this has worn away and there is very shiny chrome underneath.  I have seen this before with vintage pieces that had a protective coating on them at one time.  I tested a small area with some very fine steel wool and there is no doubt this is the case.  This piece will buff out to a very nice chrome shine.  I am leaving this up to the end user as it will be their choice to polish or leave as is.  The red glass lens is in great shape with no nicks or chips.  The color is vibrant and displays very well.  The original wiring is present but the jacket is torn at the base and it will need repair.  The mounting stud is firmly in tact and the nut spins by hand indicating the threads are in good usable condition.  Overall, a very nice vintage light assembly that I rate as better than most drivers with potential to buff out to show quality.  Please check out the pictures and ask questions before bidding.  Professional packaging guaranteed (see our feedback).  Bid with confidence and good luck.
