Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV Concept-S at 2014 Paris motor show

Tue, 02 Sep 2014

By Tim Pollard First Official Pictures 02 September 2014 13:42 This is the first - somewhat restricted - look at the new 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV Concept-S, due to be unveiled at this autumn’s Paris motor show. It’s a smarter adaptation of the existing Outlander plug-in hybrid road car. Mitsubishi describes it thus: ‘The Outlander PHEV Concept-S is a concept model MMC proposes as a special package of the Outlander PHEV production model that has a refined interior and exterior design that magnifies the Outlander PHEV’s unique driving experience.’ Not a huge amount to go on then.

Cadillac ATS comes to Europe in autumn 2012

Tue, 28 Aug 2012

Cadillac's ATS compact saloon will go on sale in Europe following the car's centre-stage appearance on the Cadillac stand at the 2012 Paris motor show next month. With provisions made for right-hand drive versions, Cadillac is clearly serious about entering the UK market again, despite the sink-without-trace disappearing act that was the BLS. Why is Cadillac muscling into Europe with the ATS?

Mercedes CLA Shooting Brake on the way

Wed, 24 Apr 2013

Mercedes’ design boss Gordon Wagener has revealed to WhatCar that they are planning to go exactly the same route with the CLA as they did with the CLS, and create a coupe estate. The CLS Shooting Brake (pictured below) has been very well received, and with much of the world downsizing its cars a CLA Estate is a very sensible way to go, offering all the good design elements of the CLA – which already looks like a CLS on a boil wash – in a car that has more practicality. Wagener gave no idea of time scale for the CLA Shooting Brake, but with the first CLAs expected to hit customers in June it wouldn’t be a surprise to see a concept CLA Shooting Brake arrive by the time of the Frankfurt Motor Show in September before going on sale in 2014.
