Vintage Johnson Carb Model D 44 Patented In 1913 Model A T Ratrod Custom on 2040-parts.com
Springfield, Missouri, US
We recently acquired a large trailer load of classic car parts from a lifetime collector and this carb was in that batch of parts. This is a Johnson carb made by the Johnson Co. in Detroit, MICH. It is model D 44 and has a patent date on it of 4-22-1913. I have no idea what it might fit, so you are on your own there. It looks to be in good condition, but has sat unused for many years on a shelf and I am sure it will need to be rebuilt. It is dirty, but I don't see any obvious damage on it. The round end of it has something loose inside as I hear it rattling around. Free shipping anywhere in the lower 48 United States. Int'l extra. Good luck!!

Caterham creates next car online
Wed, 05 Nov 2008By Ben Whitworth Motor Industry 05 November 2008 10:08 Caterham has turned to cyberspace to design its next model – the low-volume carmaker is calling on fans around the world to log onto a bespoke website to submit their ideas and designs for every aspect of the new Caterham, before ultimately voting on what makes it to the final vehicle. The website – www.splitwheel.com - will act as a forum, hosting blogs, articles and what Caterham calls ‘a Wikipedia-style user-edited knowledge base’ to turn user input into a workable vehicle design. A comprehensive voting system that covers all aspects of the car will then be initiated, and once the final specification is agreed a prototype will be produced with initial production slated for 2011.
