Saab steps up green drive

First is the new 9-3 Biopower, a full range of saloon, estate and convertible 9-3s, all powered by a 1.8-litre turbocharged engine that's been modified to run on both unleaded and E85 (85 percent ethanol, 15 percent petrol). The mechanical changes include hardened valves and valve seats, and a new stainless steel fuel tank and ancilliaries, adding up to what's expected to be a £600 premium in the showroom over the standard 9-3.

Fast & Furious fan charged after setting his car on fire in Paul Walker tribute

Tributes to Paul Walker, the 40-year-old star of the Fast & Furious movie franchise who was killed in a car crash on 30 November, have reached the Beach Boulevard Retail Park in Aberdeen. Local car fans gathered in the shopping centre’s car park to pay their respects to Mr Walker but one of the group took their tribute a stage too far. Famed 1931 Duesenberg Whittell Coupe on the block at Gooding Pebble Beach auction

Gooding & Co. is set to auction what it claims is "America's most elegant automobile," a 1931 Duesenberg Model J by Murphy, at the company's 2011 Pebble Beach auction in August. Not to be confused with any run-of-the-mill Duesenberg Model J, this particular car is known as the Whittell Coupe after its owner, California playboy Captain George Whittell Jr.
